In conjunction with the Gary/Chicago International Airport - Runway 12/30 Runway Extension Program, railroad tracks owned by the EJ&E Railway, a subsidiary of the Canadian National Railrod, must be relocated from their current alignment to a new corridor.

The proposed railroad corridor will require construction of two single track through plate girder bridge structures necessary to carry the relocated EJ&E Railway over the Norfolk Southern Railway's Gary Branch track.  To accomplish this task, the Gary/Chicago International Airport Authority has established a contract titled, "EJ&E Railway Bridges over NS Gary Branch" (Project No. REP002).

Work under the EJ&E Railway Bridges over NS Gary Branch contract involves:

• Construction and maintenance of a temporary access road

• Borrow and earth excavation

• Furnishing and erecting structural steel, concrete structures, and reinforcement bars

• Other miscellaneous items related to this project
